For the boys’ birthday party theme this year, it had to be dinosaurs. They are mesmerized by dinosaurs, Dinosaur Train, the interactive dinosaur toys from Dinosaur Train… they even sing the theme song, it’s that popular in this house {including my husband}. And what do little boys love to do best? Dig, dig, dig, get a little dirty, & keep digging. So I knew that we needed sand, dinosaurs to dig for & buckets as part of this celebration.
Thank you, Target, for your $1 section. Thank you for having soft
dinosaur toys, on clearance. Because of you, I was able to make the cutest little favors all
for the low, low price of $3… I already had the Mod Podge & the
stickers were found in the scrapbooking section of Hobby Lobby. Again,
on sale for just a couple of bucks.
What you’ll need:
bucket
stickers {preferably flat}
Mod Podge clear sealer
Here’s how:
1} Make sure the surface of your bucket is clean & dry.
2} Place stickers on your bucket any way you’d like.
3} Spray the bucket & stickers {outside if you can}. Follow as directed on can. Don’t spray too close, but you want to coat the stickers really well. We don’t want your hard work falling off!
4} Let dry, et voila! The perfect little bucket for everyone to take home.
5} For an extra bonus I added cute, 3D dinosaur stickers on the back. They may not stay on, but that’s OK. The name is what’s important. You could try spraying these to see if they stick. But, so far they haven’t fallen off.
Once everyone had their buckets & shovels in hand we headed for the hills in search of dinosaurs.
The kids all had such a wonderful time digging & scooping. We had to put some dinosaurs back under the sand they were having so much fun…
All of the parents later said that their child was so happy after leaving the party with their new dinosaur & bucket in tow. That just makes me so happy knowing that I did my job!
Next up: Fantastic popsicle recipes. One is for adults only.
Happy Wednesday!
XOXO
