I am hosting a fabulous ghouls party next weekend and my theme is chic Halloween! So of course, I had to break out all of my disco balls from my Christmas boxes. Disco balls can go with just about any holiday/party. Except maybe Thanksgiving. Maybe. I’ll get back to you on that one! Here is a look at my dining table.
For my party, I want to have a main cocktail for the occasion and I wanted something that is 1. easy, 2. a fan favorite, and 3. can cater to a crowd. So, naturally you go with sangria. Now, I just need an actual punch bowl. I saw one on Pinterest that was an actual disco ball! I mean, this is speaking to me and it is saying “buy me now”. Well, it was sold out, the one person online in the US was out of business and the only other one I could find was from the UK and it would take 4-6 weeks. I don’t have that kind of time people!
What to do, what. to. do…
Well, you make one! And I want to help you make yours as well. So here are my links and step by step instructions.
DISCO BALL PUNCH BOWL
What you’ll need:
- spray paint (any color you would like)
- clear punch bowl
- mini mirror mosaic sheets
Steps:
First you want to spray paint the outside of your bowl. This will prevent you from seeing the square pieces from the inside. I chose white because this color will go with anything and it also matches my white and black theme for Halloween this year.
Once your bowl is dry, start adding your pieces. This is where I royally screwed up and found my appreciation for disco balls even more…. You HAVE to add each piece individually. You read that right. This bowl is tedious but worth it! Start from the top and work your way down. They will never line up perfectly and you will need to space them out just a touch toward the end of each row. This will ensure that you don’t have too big of a gap at the end. You can definitely add more than one in the center of each, and this will definitely save you time!
Make sure your rows of tiles are off center. Do not line them up.
These glass pieces are not all perfect and will shred a bit so be careful when peeling them off. Don’t cut your fingers. I would have worn cooking gloves if I had them.
All in, I spent just under $40 (I already had the paint). You can’t purchase one for less than $150! I say it is definitely worth it and will add a fun touch to your next party, or date night in with your partner 😉 And this doesn’t have to be for just drinks. Think pastas, salads or even the chicest bowl of cereal you’ve ever had!
Let me know if you make one and tag me in your social media! I made a quick reel for Instagram and you can find it here.
