Yes. I am alive. And busy. And tired. All of those “new again” mommy woes 😉 Trying to get back into the swing of things on a lot of fronts. Photography, yoga, parenting, wife-ing (nope. not a word), being artsy as hell and finding my inner voice again. Sounds like a shit load of work…. and it is. Especially when this little guy is up! Almost 8 months old and eats almost as much as his big brothers!
Today I’m sharing a tip that I thought new moms out there would like to have in case you’re planning on making baby’s food. I did for my twins when they were infants. This lets me control the flavors, toxins, GMOs, organic, preservatives and anything else you can think of. And not to mention the money saved in the grocery store. I make a big batch and then freeze it all. Pears, squashes, apples, carrots, even prunes. Plus, it’s incredibly easy with a one and done Beaba Babycook machine. At the time, spending more than $100 on something that you could do with what you already have in your home doesn’t seem legit. But, when you can steam and blend all in the same little container, why mess with a big steamer, colander, food processor and then washing all of that? Honestly, I wish I ordered the larger, double Pro 2X… just imagine all of the pure goodness you could make at the same time.
But, what I didn’t do the first time around was save that water from the steamer… I’m adding water to his oatmeal, so why not save it? The water has flavor and a little nutrients! So I just put the water in little breast milk containers and toss them in the freezer as well. You’re welcome little one…
