Welcome!!! How do you like it around here? I’m pretty happy if I do say so myself. New name. New look. New year. It’s all falling into place!
Why the new name you ask. A year flies by, really fast, apparently. My last post on January 2 was indeed my last post as Mon Petit Nid for the year & for good. I was getting ready to post again, but something was wrong. I couldn’t even post. And then it hit me ~ It’s been a YEAR since I started this blog. A YEAR since I purchased my domain name. This meant that I no longer owned my domain name….. I tried repurchasing. Nothing. I do a search. Found it. With someone other you~know~what that just wants to sell my domain name for more than the $10 paid! Ugh. What a jerk.
And Google/Blogger didn’t help much. Thanks for the one email letting me know it’s about to expire. Sent on the day of, no less, to an email address that I did not have listed as my main form of communication. Again, “ugh”.
I was really, really unhappy at this point. What do I do!? I felt so terrible that I didn’t let anyone know about this mess of confusion. I didn’t even know about it until it was too late.
So, the only thing I could was to sit back & realize that this was my opportunity to finally move forward with my blog. Take it somewhere. Who knows where, but somewhere…
I had been on the fence about my name for a while. Mon Petit Nid. Can you pronounce it? Apparently no one I know can! 🙂 I loved every single thing about that name. What it stood for {& literally means} was the most important reason. My Little Nest.
Everything that I do will always be for my family. But, pleasant day dreams means so much more now. I day dream all of the time about what’s next. What will we/I encounter this month? Will I finally finish those chairs for my kids? When will I start my own photography business? Who will be my clients? Where will live in the next two years? What’s for dinner tonight? How should we potty train our boys? Should I start painting/drawing again? Will I ever sit down long enough to learn the ukulele?
I have always been a day dreamer. {I would get into trouble at school for it!} But, the beauty of day dreaming is that you can imagine anything! And I’m hoping that these dreams become reality for me some day. For my family, as well.
The past year has been an amazing learning experience for me. From photography to food to DIY projects to just being a good mom in the middle of all of this chaos! And I hope you’ve enjoyed all of the posts & continue to enjoy what I have to share with y’all! I love doing this. If I have an amazing meal, why wouldn’t I want to share it?! If I’ve found an amazing potty training secret, you can bet I’ll be the first to shout it out. Anyone out there have any for me??
