These little darlings were a mistake… Really, a “pin” gone wrong that turned into something even better! I was attempting this. The famous pinned candy corn marshmallow. It would have turned out great had my yellow been, well, yellow. And there’s no going back to correct your mistake once you’ve added the orange bottom. So, with a quick dunk back into the orange white chocolate mixture, I had myself the cutest marshmallow I’ve ever seen!
Ingredients:
large marshmallows
6oz white chocolate chips
1-2 tablespoons coconut oil
orange food coloring {I have a yellow & red, combined the two until I was satisfied with the color}
toothpicks
parchment paper
dark chocolate chips
Directions:
Combine white chocolate & coconut oil in a medium glass bowl; set over a medium saucepan of simmering water. Stir until chocolate is almost melted. {I use a double boiler}.
Remove from heat & continue to stir until completely melted & smooth. Let cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
Add your food coloring until you reach your color of choice. Mix well.
Place parchment paper on a plate or cutting board {that will fit in your refrigerator}.
Dunk your marshmallows in your chocolate. I used two toothpicks to pick up the marshmallows on each end. Shake off excess. Place each marshmallow on prepared plate.
Add a dark chocolate chip to the tops of each marshmallow.
Place in fridge until the orange chocolate has set.
Happy Wednesday everyone!
