Let’s catch up on something a little current shall we. Like my brain feeling as thought it’s on over load these days. From yoga class preparations – to twin 5 year old boys – to photo shoots – to a new baby… due to arrive this June in fact! Which, I am actually still in a little shock about. I know this is happening. I’ve seen baby on the monitor and heard his heartbeat a dozen times. And, I know that there is just one bambino tucked away in there and it is in fact a boy! So why the disbelief after 20 weeks…? Second time around “surprise” kind of thing maybe. Yet I am excited as hell! Feeling over the moon with each little kick and (im)patiently waiting for the next doctors appointment. Wondering what he will look like and who he will take after – we are hoping for mixture of our two boys. Oh, and we are hoping he’s chill, unlike his older brothers!
In order to prepare for his arrival there is a lot that has to take place. I have three bedrooms that need changing. The boys’ bedroom will get fresh paint and a bunk bed. The play room will become a guest bedroom/play room using one of the boys’ trundle beds. And the current guest room will become the nursery. Lots of moving pieces.
All. Before. June.
This sounds like enough time. But in adult reality, there is never enough time. Ever.
And, in order to get all of these thoughts straight, I am an avid note taker. I make lists. Lists for lists that I need to make. But sometimes this just doesn’t seem to be enough. So, I have created a little vision board to help with my wandering mind.

I am in love with all things gypsy/bohemian/soulful and I want this nursery to be just that. Clean and natural with a touch of wander. The soft palette of a deep mint green, navy and soft gray really seem to be calming and modern. The blue dresser will be a hand me down from the boys’ nursery and I made sure to keep our glider (purchased from a baby boutique in Atlanta and made by Best Chairs – similar to the one pictured). Instead of the matching ottoman that we purchased, I’d like to use the wicker pouf shown and throw the faux sheep rug on top. How adorable would that be?!
I know all of these ideas will not stay the same because, in my dreams, that blue dresser is a vintage, mid-century piece with amazing details. The rug would be a vintage kilim – but lets face it, an infant does not care about where that rug came from because he/she will throw up all over that fancy new rug of yours and not think twice about it.
The beautiful tree stump side table from West Elm is definitely a DIY project coming up. If I can pull that off, I think I could do just about anything! In the meantime, check out my Pinterest board for more ideas and where my head is at these days.
