Another (late) birthday post!
This time we’re talking superheroes. And what kid doesn’t love a badass superhero?! I didn’t go with any one particular superhero… we embrace every superhero for all of their awesome qualities. This birthday party will always be one of my favorites. The cake was superb. The decorations were just to damn cute. So cute I kept them. The kids all decorated their own superhero capes and cuffs… and loved it! And, it was all around just a good time had by all.
Party information:
The cake is from Maddy’s Fattys , a local bakery. This cake was exactly what I was looking for! The speech bubbles, skyline and the boys’ initials as “Superman”! Those girls work some magic there.
I created little tags for the candy/cake table by using comic book speech bubbles from this Etsy shop. I also used them to make the speech bubbles on the city skyline.
The city skyline was made with boxes, black wrapping paper (next time I’ll spend a little more on paper – the cheap stuff is, well, cheap) and sticky notes cut into window shapes. SUPER easy… it’s laughable.
The ice cream paper cups were from here. And I made ice cream cone wraps with free comic book pages online and cutting those using a template.
Those awesome “Superman” symbols on the wall and birthday banner were purchased from Anders & Ruff. I printed the large symbols at a local printing store, cut them out and added them to presentation boards that I covered in fabric.
The tiny superheroes created their own identities by gluing and sticking all kinds of things to their capes, found here. I made the cuffs with felt and fabric glue. And the masks were a score in the Target $1 section… BAM!
I found these amazing superhero tote bags on Amazon, here. I filled them with superhero knick knacks and fruit – hoping to take the sugar edge off 🙂
I’d say this was a success and tons of fun. Just look at that bunch…
